Short version: TaxOS is designed to handle sensitive tax documents carefully. The app stores the documents and tax records you import, and uses that information only to provide tax-readiness features, support, and app functionality.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the TaxOS website, the TaxOS iPhone app, and support requests sent to the TaxOS support alias. TaxOS is an Australia-first app product by Kin Lab.
Information you provide
TaxOS may process the documents, photos, scans, and related metadata that you import into the app, along with the structured tax records derived from that material. This can include information such as income statements, deduction evidence, rental-property expense documents, and notes or corrections you add during review.
If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your email, such as your name, email address, device details, and the message itself.
How the information is used
We use imported documents and derived tax records to run core TaxOS features: document review, extraction, confirmation workflows, readiness tracking, search, estimates, and accountant-ready exports.
We use support emails to answer questions, investigate issues, and improve the product.
Document processing and AI features
TaxOS is built around OCR, extraction, categorisation, and evidence linking. Some of these features may rely on Apple platform capabilities or third-party processing services selected by Kin Lab.
When third-party processing is used, it is only for product functionality such as turning imported documents into structured tax records or improving accuracy. We do not sell imported tax data to advertisers or data brokers.
Storage, retention, and security
TaxOS is designed for sensitive financial information, so we aim to minimise access, retain only what is needed for product operation and support, and protect stored data with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.
No system can promise absolute security. If our storage or processing model changes materially, this policy will be updated here.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the app or support channel, but only to the extent needed to provide TaxOS functionality, support, payments, hosting, security, or fraud prevention.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect users, Kin Lab, or the public.
Payments and subscriptions
If TaxOS offers paid features, purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Your choices
You control what documents you import, what edits or confirmations you make, and whether you contact support. Depending on the released app features, you may also be able to delete imported material or remove the app from your device.
Children
TaxOS is intended for adults managing their own tax readiness. It is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as TaxOS evolves. The latest version will always be published at this URL with the revised date.
